Do your mornings go like this?….
The alarm goes off at 5:25am. You can't BELIEVE it- because didn't you just shut your exhausted eyes only two minutes ago? You slap the snooze button, roll over, and fall asleep for precisely 8 more minutes until the snooze alarm interrupts the silence again…. and BOOM….. you are off to the races…..
Shower…. check to make sure a teenager answered his alarm and is getting into the shower…..get dressed…. dry your hair… wake up the next round of teens and pre-teens…. brush your teeth…. and make a dash for the kitchen.
Make sure all teens and pre-teens have started to actually eat their breakfast (instead of just numbly watching SportsCenter on their phones!)….. Mix up eggs for the teen that refuses cereal…. nag them to brush teeth, comb hair, find shoes, grab backpacks…. and for heaven's sakes- HURRY because the bus is almost here!
Speed down the driveway like a maniac, laying on your horn so the bus doesn't pull away…. since OF COURSE it is already here! Lovingly tell children to “Have a Great Day”, realize you forgot to coordinate whom you need to pick up at the end of the day… so sit at the end of the driveway and text children to negotiate the after school schedule.
Head back up the driveway…. and YAY… since you have 30 minutes before the next round of children need to be roused for school, you start tackling tasks…. Unload the dishwasher….
Re-load the dishwasher. Throw in a load of laundry…..
Feed the family pup….
Do nutty things like turning this….
Because…. ORDER is CALMING…. right? Go throrugh the entire wake up… get ready…. make breakfast…. nag to brush teeth, comb hair, get shoes, pack backpacks, race to the bus thing…. all over again…. Whew!
While some days at this point what I really want to do is to go back to bed, I know what I really need to do is to find a few minutes to re-charge. To take a deep breath, sip something yummy, and look over the list of things that I would like to accomplish during the day. This is “Me Time”. Time to relax, refocus, and get reinvigorated. Do you make sure to give yourself this moment before you dive into the day?
On a warm sunny day, I prefer to enjoy my few minutes of “Me Time” while sitting in a rocking chair on my front deck. I can hear the birds singing to one another. I can see things growing and blooming all around me, and I can enjoy a cold homemade mocha coffee, that I prepared just for me! Craving your own homemade mocha coffee? It only take a few minutes moments to put everything into the blender….
And turn it into this cool, frothy, indulgent beverage- just for me (or you!).
What makes this beverage so good- is the Folgers instant coffee! It tastes amazing- and I always keep Instant coffee on hand in my pantry to use in my morning beverage or add it to a recipe to punch it up a bit. (You can see some awesome Folgers Recipes here!) It's quick and easy, smells so yummy, and is an easy way to add richness to your day! I love it!
