We all have products, books, tips, ideas that we use all of the time, that we would recommend to all of our friends, don’t we? But since they are a part of our everyday lives, sometimes we just take them for granted, forgetting all about how awesome they really are! So once a month I stop- take a look around, and celebrate those little things that make my life easier- sharing them here with you! And today- I've got an amazing giveaway for MomOf6 readers too (check it out below!)
I love to be inspired and I love when I can be reminded of that inspiration at different times throughout the day. I think that's one of the reasons I like to wear a fitness tracker so I can check in with my step count all day long. But I also love to be reminded of the mantras that are important to me- like “peace” and “patience” and “gratitude”. So when I saw these MantraBands on Pinterest a few weeks ago- I headed right over to their website to check them out… and immediately ordered 5 of them! MantraBands are available in silver, gold, and rose gold and you can choose from dozens of mantras.
They ship on these cool cards, some of which come with super inspiring messages, like the one that came with my “Live what you love” band..
#2: Lined Post It Notes
You all know that I love a good list! And these lined post it notes are the perfect vehicle for all of my quick list making! Making a quick trip to the grocery store? I write down the 5 things that I need and stick this to my phone. Running all of my Monday morning errands and don't want to miss a stop? I write down the 7 places I need to go and stick the note to my car's dashboard. No more forgetting an errand!
#3: Sterilite Storage Bins
You've seen me use these bins on my blog for years. They are hands-down my very favorite bin to use for general storage. I have them in my pantry, my hall closet, the kids closets, the toy closet, the mud room- everywhere! They are 13″ tall so they can hold alot- like 4 pairs of teenage boy shoes, or a whole lot of cars and legos! And they are stackable when not in use so they are easy to store. Because they are plastic they are easy to wipe out when they get dirty, and mine have lasted me for years! You can buy these Sterilite plastic bins in sets of 6 for $27 on Amazon right now, which makes them a pretty good deal too!
#4: Painting Lulu
I was sent this paper-to-digital coloring book for the kids and I to try recently, and I have to admit- it is really pretty cool! Kids can use the Painting Lulu coloring book in the traditional way, coloring the outlined drawing in crayon to their hearts content. But then things get interesting when they use the free Painting Lulu app to snap a picture of their creation and bring it into their device (like an iPhone or iPad) and then using the soft foam crayon as a stylus, can continue to “color” their picture right on their iPad.
But my favorite way that my kids used the app, was when they took a photo from their camera roll, and used the app to convert that photo to a coloring page image! So cool! Then they were able to color that picture as well! (And yep- that's the photo they took of me!)
#5: OXO Pop-Up Top Travel Mug
I have loved my OXO travel mug for years and years now. I won't drink my hot tea in anything else- it keeps it warm for hours and it is large enough to hold a decent-sized cup of tea (a girl needs her caffeine, you know?). But the best part is the pop-up top. You click the button and then drink from your cup, and then click the button again and it is closed. As in- won't spill all over the place when you accidentally drop your mug while juggling 6 bags of groceries- kind of closed!
But you know what made me love them even more? Sometimes when you own a product for years and years… it no longer works as well. In this case, the pop-up button was getting stuck in the down position, so the only way I can drink from the mug is by holding the button down while drinking- so my fingers are all in the way of my face, and it's not pretty. So I called the customer service # on the OXO web site, and in the course of a less than 2-minute phone call- they told me they are more than happy to just ship a brand new mug top to me in the mail. At no charge. And I don't even have to send the broken one back.
I've owned this mug for years people… and they are more than happy to replace the top for free! Now THAT'S customer service!
#6: Pillar Candles
I love decorating my home with pillar candles. I wrap each candle in printed paper and then add a color-coordinated ribbon, changing them out for each season. I am re-working my table displays now for St Patty's Day- all in shades of green! You can buy these 3 x 6″ pillar candles in bulk from Amazon (they are are the size I use at home), a set of 12 for $36 right now!
