Every year I like to celebrate the fun we had during the summer by creating a gratitude wall on our refrigerator door that showcases a collection of pictures that capture some of our favorite summer activities. I also like to include ticket stubs from events that we've attended, wristbands from water parks, and other mementos we've collected. I call it our “gratitude wall” because it shows all of us the things we should feel grateful for as a family. Plus- when the kids complain that they are “bored” and that we haven't done “anything fun lately”- I can point to the fridge and remind them of all of the great things we have done!
I love creating this gratitude wall because every time I see it, I can bask in the happy memories of what we did together over the summer, and it also serves as inspiration for writing assignments when the kids are asked “What did you do over the summer”? when they head back to school. And it is the perfect Labor Day activity- to go through all of your digital pictures from the summer- upload them to Shutterfly and have them printed at Target, CVS, or Walgreens in an hour, and then with a little tape and some help from your kids- you have this awesome celebration of summer!
What is your favorite memory from this summer?
