With my family- the minute one sports season ends, another one begins- whether they are the ones on the field or just rooting from the sidelines. As a Mom to a household of sports fans, I love to find ways to celebrate the teams they claim and the games that they are looking forward to watching. And this week- it's all about the New York Yankees! In fact, the home opener is today at 1:05pm vs the Blue Jays (so we'll be catching the later innings just as soon as the kids get home from school!)
So here's how we are getting ready for game day, and making it more of an event here at our house:
I love to build excitement for events like this by “announcing them” with invites for the kids or by posting signs throughout the house to let them know that their team is playing today. I created this Yankees Game Day sign and printed a stack to use here at a home. I can just fill in the sign with the opponent, game time, and channel and hang it up in our kitchen. (You are welcome to download the Yankees game day sign here for your own personal use!)
Who doesn't love to wear a tee shirt supporting their favorite team to school? Especially on the day of the game! Lili loves this soft jersey vintage style tee that she found on Fanatics.com. Fanatics is the largest retailer of officially licensed sports merchandise and provides the ultimate shopping experience to sports fans.
Jack chose the traditional team logo tee…
While Charlotte went for the more girly style tee complete with sparkles and hearts!
And Spencer- went for the in-your-face “Let the rings do the talking” tee – which features all 27 World Series wins! Not a Yankees fan? You can buy your favorite major league baseball team's hats & jerseys on Fanatics.com. And Fanatics offers hundreds of thousands of officially licensed items for all major professional sports leagues (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, PGA), major media brands and over 200 collegiate and professional team properties. So trust me- you can find great looking tees, hats, and other fan gear for WHOMEVER your kids plan to cheer on this year!
And if you are watching baseball- you've got to have hot dogs, right?
Even if you are grilling them while standing in the snow!
