Sometimes the most fun craft to make is the one that is the easiest on you…. the Mom. Here's how we made birdhouses for kids:
We purchased these birdhouse kits online from Oriental Trading Company at the bargain price of $14 for 12 of them. They were so easy to snap together, although we did add a little glue just to provide some additional stability.
The kit contains three different styles of birdhouses, and since there were a dozen of them, each of my kids were allowed to assemble two birdhouses. I think they looked really nice even in this natural wood state.
We painted the little houses using dot sponge brushes and acrylic paints that we already owned.
I love how they turned out….. and I think that they look fantastic hung in trees all over our yard!
