Ingredients
  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 7-8 Potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
Instructions
  1. Wash and peel the potatoes, cutting them into thin slices.
  2. Melt 2 Tablespoons of butter in a large deep pan on the stove. Once the butter is melted, turn off the heat.
  3. Place potatoes in a single layer on the bottom of the pan, overlapping them slightly.
  4. Melt another 2 Tablespoons of butter (I use a microwave for this), and drizzle a bit of melted butter on top of this layer. Sprinkle some salt and pepper on top as well.
  5. Continue adding layers, drizzling the butter, and sprinkling with salt and pepper until all of your potatoes are in the pan.
  6. When you get to the top layer. Press down on the potatoes a bit. You want them really compacted in there!
  7. Cover the top of the pan with foil, and place in a preheated 400-degree oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 20-30 minutes until the top begins to crisp slightly.
  8. Allow the potatoes to cool for 10 minutes and then place a large serving plate on top and flip them over to invert your Potatoes Anna!
