Instant Pot BBQ Ribs Recipe

This Instant Pot BBQ Ribs recipe is one of my kids' favorite dinners right now because they are THAT delicious!
Author:
Ingredients
  • 2-3 racks of baby back ribs, cut into individual ribs
  • 2 Tablespoons paprika
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1½ Tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
Instructions
  1. Place your individually cut baby back ribs onto a foil-lined baking sheet- with the meat side facing up.
  2. Prepare the rub in a small bowl by combining the paprika, brown sugar, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Generously coat all of the ribs. Then turn the ribs over and coat the other side as well.
  3. Place the ribs into the Instant Pot (I like to put the trivet down first so the ribs won't be standing in the cooking liquid). Ribs should be standing on end, packed tightly together in the pot.
  4. Place the lid on the Instant Pot, lock it into place, and set it to cook on high pressure for 30 minutes. (Note: it will take 20-30 minutes to first build to pressure, then the ribs will cook for 30 minutes, then it will take 5-10 minutes to release the pressure).
  5. Once the ribs have reached the cooking time in the Instant Pot, pre-heat your oven to the broil setting.
  6. After the ribs have finished cooking, and you've released the pressure from the pot, remove the ribs using tongs and place them onto a foil-lined baking sheet. Generously coat the ribs in your favorite BBQ sauce and place under the broiler for 5-10 minutes (watching carefully so the sauce doesn't burn), until the sauce has thickened on the meat.
