I wish that I could tell you that I thought of this idea myself, but I have to give my kids total credit for coming up with this idea for a DIY roller coaster ride! This would be such a fun rainy day activity if you are planning a DIY summer camp!
This all came about one day when the kids had been begging to use the iPad or the TV during some “no-electronics” hours in the morning. I was distracted, trying to catch up on a few hours of work, and I wasn't really listening- so I just kept telling them “no” and “go find something else to do”. But worn down, I finally caved and told them to “go ahead.”
And when I turned around- this was what they were up to!
My oldest had come up with the idea of creating a homemade roller coaster simulator by playing YouTube videos of roller coaster rides while bouncing around one of the younger kids on the ottoman!
They kept at this for an hour, with the bigger kids bouncing around the younger kids- no one fighting over who was next, no one arguing that they didn't have a chance to ride it (and truly, I don't think my older kids ever “rode”, they only were the “workers”).

Don't you just love it when your kids use their imagination to create something totally fun?

Smart kids!
Kids can be fairly smart beyond our imagination! And they can think out what we can not think!
We should give their enough space for them to develop their imagination!

Some days I think the adult expectations/brain get in the way of kids imaginations lol.
