Last week my kids were begging to use my iPad and the TV during some “no-electronics” hours in the morning. I was distracted, trying to catch up on a few hours of work after attending a blog conference last weekend, and I wasn't really listening- so I just kept telling them “no”, and “go find something else to do”…. but finally I caved and told them to “go ahead.” And when I turned around… this was what they were up to.
Kyle had come up with the idea of creating a homemade roller coaster simulator by plugging the iPad into the TV and playing you tube videos of roller coaster rides while bouncing around one of the younger kids on the ottoman! They kept at this for an hour, with the bigger kids bouncing around the younger kids…. no one fighting over who was next, no one arguing that they didn't have a chance to ride it (and truly, I don't think my older kids ever “rode”, they only were the “workers”).
Don't you just love it when they kids use their imagination to create something totally fun?
