We've managed to accumulate quite a few plastic Easter eggs This is an affiliate link: MomOf6 earns a commission if you purchase, at no additional cost to you. after attending many Easter egg hunts over the years. And months later I am still tripping over them in the kids' bedrooms where they've used them to play basketball, bowling, and a dozen other made-up games. My favorite thing to do with leftover plastic Easter eggs is to do a little decorating for Easter by placing them inside of glass containers apothecary jars, and bowls!
Our favorite Easter egg hunt is the flashlight hunt that our town holds every year in the park right after the sun sets. They wait until it is completely dark outside, line up all of the participants on one side of the field and when they announce “GO!”, the kids all scramble around on the ground looking for the candy hidden inside of plastic Easter eggs.
The field is huge- so it takes a while for them to find everything- and it is always a bit of a challenge to find your own kids in the dark after the hunt!
Decorating for Easter with Plastic Easter Eggs!
I prefer to separate the plastic eggs and create individual jars of just one color- especially since those plastic eggs often come in varying shades of the same color… which makes the display more interesting.
