One of our Easter traditions is that the Easter Bunny hides the kids' Easter baskets! He leaves his first Easter Bunny note right where the kids will find it when they get up, and that leads to more clues and more running around the house- up and down the stairs and sometimes even outside, finding more clues and solving more puzzles, until they finally find their baskets. My kids look forward to this scavenger hunt every year. Even the older ones- who know exactly who hides the baskets!
Since we wouldn't want any clever kids analyzing handwriting samples, I created these cute Easter Bunny Notes. I upload a blank one to PicMonkey This is an affiliate link: MomOf6 earns a commission if you purchase, at no additional cost to you. , and then I add text for each clue.
I usually start by making a list of all of the places where the kids will find their clues, and then I try to come up with a clever way for them to solve a riddle or a puzzle to figure out where their next clue can be found.
(the next clue is hidden in the dryer….)
And then when the kids find their baskets all in one place, I label them with their names using this bunny tag!

I usually like to include a gift nestled in among the jellybeans and chocolate eggs in their baskets. The funny thing is, our elementary school always has a book fair in the spring. And my kids come home with a long list of books that they would like for me to buy for them from the book fair, but I always say “no- we just had Christmas, your birthday is coming up”, etc. Whatever it takes to throw them off the scent of fresh books.
And then I go and buy the book from the list that I think is their top pick, and I put it in the Easter basket. And they are surprised. Every time. Hee hee.

Sooo cute!!! As a mom of 5 , I have done a hunt for each child. However, after 4 years and 60 clues later.. I am running out of ideas on clues, as well as places to hide each basket. Do you have any “clue ideas” to share?
Thanks,
Tara Costello
