The past four weeks I have been really committed to maintaining a healthy diet and exercising. This motivation came when I read Dr. Ian Smith's new book “The Shred Diet” and I been really pleased with how easy the plan is to follow, how I feel as if I'm actually eating all of the time, and that it's just good healthy food and not some pre-packaged product sold to me by a diet company. The best part? In just four weeks I've lost 6 pounds! Those kind of results really make a girl really want to stick with the plan!
But sometimes it's really hard to avoid the sweets. Especially when my husband comes home from work, goes into the freezer and prepares himself a giant bowl of ice cream, enjoying it while we watch TV together. Munching on an apple while he is enjoying his frozen treat is just not nearly as satisfying. So I've been on the lookout for a super-low-calorie sweet treat that would make me feel as if I'm having something special too. And you know what I found recently? Werther's Original Sugar Free Caramels!
They come in four flavors- caramel, caramel apple, caramel cinnamon, and carmel and coffee. At only 8 calories per piece I can have one or two each day and not feel as if I'm blowing all of my good intentions!
The other cool thing is that my kids really like them too so I don't have to buy a separate little candy stash for myself and another one for them that I have to “hide from myself!”
