🎈 At this age, most parents consider birthday parties to be "drop off events". So it is a good idea to keep the party to a size you can manage on your own!
⏰ A 5-year-old birthday party should be kept to 90 minutes- including time for food/cake!
🎂 If you want to serve lunch to the guests, plan your party around noon. If you prefer to just serve cake- schedule your party for the mid-afternoon.
🛍 When it comes to party favors, my favorite tip is to make one of the party activities- such as a craft- also serve as the party favor!
🎁 It's best to leave present-opening until after the guests have gone home. Plus it provides an opportunity later for your child to create a "thank you note or picture" that you can send to the gift giver later to show your appreciation!
