Share your Feelings of Thanksgiving:
My friend Lisa has created these beautiful pendants in two designs to help raise money for a wonderful organization called “Superkids“. Superkids is part of the humanitarian aid branch of the Gladney adoption agency, and their mission is to send physical therapists to orphanages in China, Ethiopia and Columbia. The physical therapists evaluate the children (most of whom are not eligible for adoption due to physical disabilities) and help to train the caregivers to better care for these children. In some cases, the children improve greatly with therapy allowing them to become eligible for adoption.
The pendants are available in sterling silver for $150, and in 18kt gold for $3000. All profits from the sale of these items goes directly to Superkids! You can order these pendants at Zannier Studios. A beautiful gift for both you and the children that benefit from Superkids! (I just ordered and received my high-polish sterling silver “love pendant”- the Chinese character “ai” which means “love”. It is so gorgeous!)
Some Additional Inspiration for Thanksgiving Side Dishes:
For years now I have served this incredibly rich and wonderful sweet potato torte with my Thanksgiving dinner. But this year my husband has asked me to serve something a little more “old school”, such as a sweet potato casserole with a brown sugar topping. (And dare I say he even requested the mini-marshmallows too?) So I think I will try this sweet potato souffle from She Knows, even though it is made without the requested mini-marshmallows!)
I have never made cornbread stuffing before, but I do make my homemade stuffing with sausage and dried apricots and dried cherries- and it is SO good! So when I saw this recipe for Sausage and Cornbread Stuffing from Our Best Bites…. well, I knew I had to copy it into Evernote so that I could try it sometime! It looks delicious!
Something Adorable for Your Table:
I am so in love with these Oreo Turkeys from Our Best Bites! Even though we don't really “need” another dessert for our Thanksgiving meal, these are just too cute to pass up. I plan on making them to surprise my kids!
If you are still looking for some great tabletop decorations or printables to entertain the kids, Shindig Parties has some fantastic free printables! How cute is this Mayflower muffin holder with pinecone crayon holder?
