Do your kids love Mad Libs? Mine sure do! This Valentines Mad Libs is a fun game to play together in pairs or groups at school parties, on playdates, or even as a family around the dinner table! Part of our collection of party games for kids!
I love the story how Mad Libs was started back in the 1950s by a couple of gentlemen who knew it would be a fun game to play- but couldn't come up with a name for it!
So one night (5 years later!) they were out for dinner and they overheard an actor and his agent at a nearby table talking about he needed to “ad lib” some lines for an interview- and that conversation inspired them to come up with the name “Mad Libs”!
How to Play the Valentines Mad Libs Game
You'll want to start with the page that lists the word prompts for the Valentine's love letter. One person can read the prompts out loud to his/her partner or the group and write down their responses (be sure to do this without peeking at the love letter!). The sillier the response, the better!
Then you can read the Valentine's letter to the group- inserting the responses as you go along (feel free to write them in the allotted spaces within the letter to make things easier!).
