When you are planning a family road trip, it can be hard to remember everything that you want to take along. I used to start writing out a list about a week before our trip, jotting down things to pack as I thought of them, until I decided that it would be so much better to start with a master family road trip packing list printable and then just add on items specific to that trip. So today I am sharing with you my free pdf packing list!
How to Use This Road Trip Packing List
The packing list is divided into sections- clothing, toiletries, technology, medicines, things you need in the car, etc.
It also includes a section outlining a checklist of things to be done in advance of your trip (cancel newspaper, hold mail, etc), a section of things to do to prepare the car for travel (check tire pressure, pack an extra set of keys, etc), and a section on things to do right before you walk out the door (turn down the thermostats, empty the trash, etc).
Of course, each road trip your family takes will determine whether or not you'll need some extra items on your packing list- maybe chairs and an umbrella for the beach, maybe skis, boots, and helmets for a ski vacation. You can add these items by writing them next to the specific section.
